Resources
This is a BRAND NEW section to feature important resources that could be helpful to families. If you have a ministry you would like to be featured, please email me the information. Like the Friend's list, you MUST be one of the people "in charge" of the resource. If you know of one you think would be helpful, please tell them about this site and send them my email. Thank you and I hope you find this new section helpful!
Patchwork Prayer Quilts: Patchwork Prayers is a simple idea with powerful results. The warmth of the quilts comes from the prayers tied into each knot on the quilt. As the quilt is constructed and the knots are tied, prayers are said for the ill person. When the family receives the quilt they can tie a knot on the quilt and say a prayer, they can then give it to their ill loved one. As the patient has visitors, their visitors can tie a knot and say a prayer. The patient is then wrapped in love and prayers. I hope that the prayer quilts will offer love, hope, comfort and warmth to the patient and their family. If you are interested in a prayer quilt for your loved one, please email Marta at: martagerrity@yahoo.com In the subject line, please write "prayer quilt".
Post Pals is an organization which brightens the lives of seriously ill children and their siblings by featuring them on their site, www.postpals.co.uk and inviting members of the public to log on and send cards, letters, emails, and small gifts to brighten the child's day.
Littlest Heroes Project is an effort to open the eyes of the world to a part of it that so many ignore or pretend (or don't even realize) exists. We provide free photo-sessions to families of children who are hospitalized or battling life-threatening diseases, or who have survived them. We record precious moments for families who, in many cases, have few moments left to spare and our photos will forever immortalize a child's battle with disease and sickness. www.littlestheroesproject.org
Kids Cancer Crusade was created in April 2006 in honor of Christi Thomas, a young girl that was battling Neuroblastoma, a childhood cancer. Christi passed away on September 19, 2006 but her legacy lives strong. She had a pure love of life and delighted in bringing smiles to the faces of other children with cancer. Inspired by Christi, we believe no family should go through a child's cancer diagnosis alone. We strive to live like Christi did, by spreading awareness of pediatric cancers in hopes of one day finding a cure and by offering support to the families affected by it. www.kidscancercrusade.org
