1. Is there any religious affiliation to this site?
There is no religious affiliation with Asher and Jacob's Friends. Our Friends and prayer partners come from a variety of backgrounds, including but not limited to: Christian, Jewish, Universalist, and no affiliation at all. No one is excluded from this site because of their faith tradition.
2. How do I get my loved one added to the list of friends?
The process of having someone added to the Friend's list is fairly simple. All you need to do is have the primary caregiver of the child fill out the form found under "Add your Family" and email it to Laura at: aandjfriends@gmail.com. If the person who is ill is over the age of 18, they may fill it out themselves.
3. What if i'm not the caregiver but still want my friend or relative added?
Due to privacy laws, we at Asher and Jacob's Friends only allow primary caregivers or the adult individual that is ill to submit someone to the Friend's list. This is for the safety of the families and the site.
4. What if my loved one does not have a site?
Please, still leave a prayer request or email us. While there will not be a link to add to the site, you can email us regularly with updates and we will be happy to add updated prayer requests to the site.
5. What if we want to create a site? Where do we go?
There are many options for creating a site for your loved one. Caringbridge is a non-profit organization that has easy to update webpages for people who are facing chronic or life-threatening illness'. Carepages is another organization similar to Caringbridge. Another popular server for a site is Blogger/Blogspot.
6. What if someone is posting for "everyone to spread the word" and asking for loved ones to be put on every prayer list?
For the same reasons listed above, we cannot add the links or have last names. However, please still leave a prayer request with the first name only. This way we can still pray for the individual yet honor their privacy. God hears all prayers, whether or not we can visit the site or leave a message for the family.
7. What is all this talk about the site becoming a Foundation?
Asher and Jacob's Friends is excited to announce that yes, we are in the beginning stages of becoming a Foundation! Within the next 12 months or so, we are prayerful we will be able to expand the ministry of this site. It is our hope to continue the prayer ministry already in place as well as raise money to help families who are in financial crisis. This can be through paying for groceries, a mortgage payment, outstanding hospital bills...the possibilities are endless. Please join us in praying as we begin looking in to these possibilities.
