Asher and Jacob's Friends was started over a year ago

in honor of two very special little boys, Asher and Jacob.

On May 9, 2006 Asher and Jacob, twin boys, were born

at 24 weeks gestation.  They weighed in at around 1lb 5oz each.

Jacob

Given around a 10% chance of survival by doctors, things did not look

good.  They both suffered severe lung damage and struggled

through many complications.  On June 29, 2006, Jacob

passed from his mother's arms into the arms of Jesus after

battling hard against renal failure. 

Asher continued his battle with many ups and downs.  Against

all odds, he went home in November 2006 after over 6 months in

the neo-natal intensive care unit.  It was one of the greatest days

of our lives.

During the boys fight, we got to know many other families

through our caringbridge website.  They came to our

site to pray for us, and in turn we prayed for them. 

As our list of friends grew longer, it became apparent that

a formal site needed to be set up.  As time has passed, the list has 

grown tremendously.  It is our honor and joy to be able to pray

for all of the fighters out there, and we hope Asher

and Jacob's legacy will continue to touch the lives of many.
